About Us

Beginning as a Chalet in the 1930s, Valley of Hope grew to become a Leprosy settlement that held over 2400 patients at its peak. Now, run by Care & Share Society, an NGO fully run by a group of volunteers, they are committed to preserving the history of leprosy.

We believe that the leprosy community is entitled to live with dignity and self-worth.

Our Mission

  1. To eradicate prejudice and discrimination towards the leprosy community and their families, so that families affected by leprosy will be liberated from the unnecessary hurt

  2. To preserve the history, culture, and heritage of the Valley of Hope through the Valley of Hope Story Gallery and Art Gallery to keep the collective memories of the leprosy community alive

  3. To record the experiences and life stories of the leprosy survivors, so that they are empowered with the courage to preserve their own family history.

  4. To organise events and community service projects in the Valley of Hope that bring joy to the residents.
