2. A Rose In The Wind
A Rose In The Wind
Lyrics & music composed by Summer Ting
Performed by Summer Ting
Her name is Ah Hua (flower), her grandpa brought her here,
Telling her that he wanted to buy something for her to eat, however, he left her for decades;
She studied and worked here, did whatever needed at the ward,
Whenever she saw people receiving letters from home, she felt envy of others and her tears dropped when she was alone.
She is the rose in the wind, petals drop but never dry
She stays strong facing the life, expecting the flower to bloom again one day
Ah Hua, Ah Hua, you are the rose in the wind
No matter how strong the wind and how heavy the rain during the bad times, the flower blooms again after the storm.
Few years later, she started to think about her hometown, all the family members have moved out when she went back,
She had no choice but to get married and started to plant roses, raising her children with her husband;
However, her husband and her daughter were killed in an unexpected road accident,
When she was depressed and felt hopeless, she met ASA and KAMAL.
Ah Hua, you got to work, your son must go to school,
Your husband had passed away, had gone, he won’t be back anymore.
Ah Hua, Ah Hua, you are the rose in the wind
No matter how strong the wind and how heavy the rain during the bad times, the flower blooms again after the storm.
Wiping off her tears, sending flowers by lorry, Ah Hua raised her son alone,
Overcoming the obstacles one by one with courage, even though there might be a lot of unexpected turnings in front,
Asking her what is her wish now, she said living peacefully and healthily is good enough,
Life is full of ups and downs, life has taught her this.
3. Valley of Hope
With the break of dawn
it signals a new day
The dawn accompanied by a refreshing breeze.
The dawn brightens the peoples hearts
bringing hope to all
The coolness refreshes the souls
breathing life into our aspirations
The valley embraced by hope
inhabited by a group of innocent souls
Nurtured by the refreshing breeze
Igniting hope in the pure hearts
Life has no right to despair
survival itself is a form of happiness
Just steer your attitude in the right direction
and your soul will find its way
4. The Four Themes of Life
The Four Themes of Life
Lyrics: Eannee Tan
Music: Paulwah Chew
Arrangement: Benny Chaw
Walking along the long road of life,
I learn to give thanks, and cherish time,
Every care, every companionship,
Is a warmth that gives me strength.
To myself, I say: you’ve worked hard.
To others, I say: may you be blessed.
In every step of this life,
I thank those who have protected me with love.
Give thanks, show love, say sorry, bid farewell,
With compassion as my companion, without resentment or regret,
Walking through each chapter of life with no regrets.
Give thanks, show love, say sorry, bid farewell,
Carrying love, I move toward a peaceful ending,
The four themes of life, complete and flowing like water.
Courageously, I speak words of love,
On ordinary days, keep the heart bright,
Cherish the bonds that are close at hand,
Leaving no regrets within.
Lay down mistakes with a sincere apology,
Forgive myself, no longer lost,
As time flows on and on,
I treasure each encounter of life.
Youth too will reach its end,
And with age, the heart grows calm.
For all the companionship once given,
I leave no regrets in my heart.
Even in moments of parting,
What remains within is only warmth.
Carrying love, not questioning the flavors of the past,
Facing the storms with a smile, this life holds no shame, no regret.
