Faux Stained Glass Craft
For this year’s Wesak Day, under the guidance of Teacher Sarana, the elderly from the “Art & Craft Fun” class created a series of faux stained-glass lotus flowers using pastels—serving as a special installation around the Buddha bathing altar. These translucent lotus flowers, glowing under soft lighting and surrounded by greenery, seem to bloom straight from the heart—step by step, one lotus at a time.
Each lotus is a heartfelt blessing painted by elderly hands, with every shade infused with their life stories and warmth. The sacred space surrounding the Buddha was made more serene and gentle with these pure creations. This craft exhibition is more than just a visual feast—it is a spiritual dialogue where faith meets life. In this sea of compassionate and creative lotus blossoms, we come together to bathe the Buddha and witness how faith blooms once more at the fingertips of the elderly.
With a devout and humble heart, paint lotus flowers that symbolize purity and transcendence, as offerings to the Buddha. They seem to convey to the world that even when born into the mundane world, one can still maintain inner peace and serenity.
